Wondering if there are any options out there to fit my early model Transition TransAm with an angleset. Specs have it at 68.5* head angle, ans I'd love to slack that out a little more.

It's got a straight 1 1/8" steerer/headtube and currently runs a ZS44/ZS44 headset.

Perhaps the combo is too old at this point, but is anyone aware of any angle modification compatible with this setup?

Don't mind the spacer pile. It's only temporary until I get this all figured out.

Maybe...If it could take an EC top and bottom. I'd think there's almost zero wiggle room with a ZS top and bottom.

nope. even works doesn't make that config. i don't think there's enough clearance. only option to slacken it out would be a fork w/ taller a2c, but there's downsides to that too.

reverse components also offers a crown race spacer, but that only will give you half a degree.

In this case, yes. ZS44 uses a cup pressed into the frame, not a drop in bearing.

Superstar's courier is expensive AF if you are outside EU/UK, but it looks like the T1 Slackerizer would do exactly what you need, since it accepts a straight steerer.

Sadly, it does not appear that they ship to the mainland USA. It'd have to be the Works version if anything.

I remember when 9 speed came out and most frames were steel the upgrade path was to simply bend the frame. How implausible would anealing/bending/heat treating be? I know it wouldn't be cheap but could it work?

It's out of stock at the moment but Wolf Tooth have an EC44-EC44 neg 1deg but you'd have to run a 1.5 to 1.125 adapter.
