hahaha-wife's best friend is polish and does the traditional many-course xmas eve meal. we've been...let's just say i was glad that we were "sick" last year and had an excuse to stay home :rofl:

french toast for brekkies, then went for a walk by a nearby river to see the large stand of spider lilies that blooms there and had a picnic. power's out now for some reason, supposed to be restored by 5. cicadas be loud, yo.
talk went well. went to art fair with all my fellow american art nerd curators/collectors/patrons and delicious veal saltimbocca afterwards. currently holed up in a favorite little dive on the way back to the hotel.
tomorrow, gotta go look at some paintings, see a show, and then head home...
late check in. in ny doing art-y things all day. looking forward to presenting at the symposium tomorrow. realizing that, alas, i am old and of the "elder" generation of people in my field, having been doing things in it for 25+ years now. *le sigh* fortunately, i'm still young at heart, eh?!
wife said it was nuts but all's cool at the crib. buddy up near lincolnton said he watched a funnel cloud form from his patio..

never been to pier 17...when i was a kid it was cb's/wetlands/irving plaze/ritz/a7/random spots...i think the last show i went to in ny was killing time/vision at coney island high in the summer of '95 :rofl:
