Case rate for unvaccinated people in my county has been pretty consistent at 90 cases per 100K for the past few months. Somewhat implies that "natural immunity" in that population isn't making things better. Rates for the vaccinated dropped from 28 to 17 per 100K in the same time period. 80% of cases are unvaccinated and the unvaccinated only make up 24% of the population. That includes kiddos who aren't eligible.

Have read/heard several immunologists say with delta’s r values and apparent ability to re-infect in some cases, plus the fact it is possible for it to recirculate through some human-adjacent animal populations, herd immunity is effectively impossible now.

Just got my Moderna booster and Flu jab. Thought about getting the shingles one too, but my birthday is Sunday, and the pharmacist (friend of mine) told me to wait. It would have been one too many. Gonna go for a ride before I feel any effects (if any).

Over the weekend a very senior engineer sent an email out to pretty much every email in the company address book by running a script. He basically said he was leaving the company because of vaccine mandate, gave no reasons but included a link to some nutty conspiracy theory website.

It created quite the stir. He should probably get fired for corporate communication and security policies.

report him to HR for creating a hostile work environment, just for good measure.

I am sure there were thousands of complaints that rolled in. He also posted his message in all of the internal work forums that all got rapidly deleted. a lot of people think he actually runs the conspiracy theory website and was basically using it to spam the whole company.

Wife got her third on Sunday. Nothing to report but a sore arm and a boost in Wifi range.

And this was the hill they decided to end a career on, huh?

Yup. But he started with the company in the days of socialism so he is most likely walking away with a nice pension and a health care plan. Basically retiring while trying to make a point to get admired by a bunch of rubes and morons.

My kids will be unblinded in the trial imminently, and vaccinated if they didn’t already get it.
Elder kid got placebo.

Middle kid got active vaccine. (We had guessed this as she had a low grade fever the day after shot 2.)

Elder kid will thus get the active vaccine this Monday.

I’m thinking ol’ Emerald also has an Only Fans page where she wears a Mardi Gras mask…

Besides, I would think the third coming of Jesus would be hip to new tech, and would want the Christians to be easily identified for rapture?

Gotta schedule my 3rd jab.

Damn, the number of people I see with noses out and/or pulling the mask down to talk and then pulling it back up when done. It hurts my head.

About the only reason I can think of to pull a mask down to talk - is if the person you are trying to communicate with is deaf and lip reads. ...and I bet that happens a lot. Otherwise, pull your fucking mask up you asshole. :disgust1:

Hey, at least they're keeping their chins warm. Here no one wears one despite the hospitals being overloaded.
