Nikon 600mm PF is currently $500 off, and the 500mm looks like it's worth a few hundred bucks more than I expected.

Buy a Pentax camera, the remorse will hit hard.

I also agree, buy the lens!
My 150-450 with the 1.4X is the main lens I use, I wish the thing had stabilization but Pentax don't believe in that.
Oh and the ability to lock it anywhere in the zoom range, or at least no zoom creep.
