I've been running a 30t raceface narrow/wide on a Shimano 9spd drivetrain for several months with no chainguide and a conventional derailer. I ride pretty aggressively and have dropped the chain only 2 times in that period, both following a substantial jolt, so I'd say it's doing its job quite well.
I got a Garmin Edge 305 over the holidays and used in on DH runs a few times. Its mostly a roadie training tool with a heart rate monitor and optional cadence sensor, but its pretty neat to get a bunch of numbers about your dh runs. Its a lot more accurate than a wheel-sensor speedometer. Spits...
I've been running a 2.4 3C on the front since July with zero dissapointment. Rode it at Vail, Winterpark, Northstar, etc. Really good traction given the low rolling resistance. Definately sheds mud better than Minions and actually works really well in Northstar's dust. Great overall tire. Don't...
That's a real sweet-looking bike. Also, way to give every imaginable lit bit of information about it. It really interests me that you specify tire pressure so specifically. Is that exactly-two-psi difference something you insist upon?
I really like my Truvativ Holzfellers. The really thin, long pins on them make for some pretty amazing grip. My favorite flat pedals out of all I've tried.
Not sure if this has been posted, someone was handing out flyers for this at a local race.

Not the best grammar but seems like an interesting idea... I wonder what the disengagement is like.
Just thought this was neat.
~$1100 w/shock and powdercoat in any color. Not like that though, the owner of that frame did that himself somehow, or knows some guy. I don't know.
Please don't quote me on that price though, its pretty ballpark. Actually, thats the price for his downhill frame, which is similar, with a DHX...
Anyone around Santa Cruz want to carpool? I'm trying to leave a little before 8, and have room for one more person/bike. If anyone else driving down has room, I'd throw down for gas.
For downhill I'm pretty set on the Michelin DH 16 2.2 front, DH 24 2.2 rear combo. I can't picture myself running anything else anytime soon.
On the trail/jumping hardtail, I'm using DH16 front, arrow launch rear. I'm planning to try a DH15 in the back. Granted both of these suck in loose...
I will be ordering one of these. I rode a prototype a while back, felt great. Spot on.
Steve's been working at the single pivot thing for quite a while now. He's got it pretty dialed.
I'm especially excited about the full seat tube. Thats the only thing about the Crazy8 that I am less than...
Definately two years max, even on EA70s. I wasn't worried about it, until I snapped mine clean in half coming out of a berm last week, after 3 years.
Just replace them. Having a handlebar snap is one of the worst things that could possibly happen.
So. Does anyone here ride with/have any problems with/is adamantly against getting any facial or other body piercings? I'm wondering if the idea of something like an eyebrow or lebret piercing getting torn out in a crash or something is a reasonable concern. Or if maybe whatever bacteria is...
This Sunday, Jan. 2nd, Gearhead Bicycles in Pacifica (http://www.gearheadbicycles.com/contact.htm) will be hosting the Nor-Cal premier of Clay Porter's movie "Synopsis: The Third Spectacle." An all day parking lot ramp jam with beer and barbeque will precede the showing of the movie. It'll be...
So, er, why did you feel like you had to go and post that? Every time some random ass bike shop in "trail rated for her pleasure" inconveniences you, an internet forum needs to hear about it? Bored, taking it out on LBS? Why not at least say my LBS service sucks, instead of LBS in general? :(
