How it started (family car camping at Wade Lake)

For years now I have been the advance man/sherpa, setting up camp so the fam-damnily can show up without having to lift a pinky.

The side benefit is that I get an extra day or two of riding and lakeside SUPping / boating in...

@TreeSaw knows this little loop -- as do her *not so little anymore* kiddos -- there's singletrack swoopiness in those trees, a modest rock garden and a bunch of 70s era educational signs about the geology, flora and fauna.

Forecast called for rain from Saturday through tonight -- there were a few dry windows but it was quite moist...

How it ended: despite 2.5 pounds of gummy bears and a bag of generic doublestuff oreos (faux-eos), morale was flagging yesterday after a solid day of rain...

But a rainy day or 3 in the woods is better than any day of work not to mention the beers taste so much better when camping

:headbang: :cheers: :monkeydance::rockout::bonk:

10/10 would bang again:

I am short, and still getting the cockpit dialed in as my one crushed vertebra prefers an upright position.

6degree riser stem ordered for the ginormous 35 handlebars, but I should have just downsized bar to 31.8 so I'd have more stem/riser options...

This guy <= does not huck things

Fucking road biking. The day I forgot to bring a tube I of course get a flat. Denmark has flint everywhere and it cuts through tires like a knife. Well it's what they used to make knives from in the stone age. At least weather is perfect and there was a train station not to far away.
Conti GP 4 Season is the way to go. Seem to be much more resistant to cuts than Michelins, Hutchinsons and Maxxis road tires. Even GP4000 seem to be better than other brands' race tires.

i know dat ingles...actually we probably passed ya somewhere heading home down 26...
Here for a few nights near Dupont, but not sure on agenda other than recovering from yesterday's ride. Any rides on this part of the trip will be easy affairs. Next time we're back in this direction it will be with the bigger bikes, not just our XC race bikes.

I am running the 4000 but they are getting worn. Once we head into real fall I just ride the gravel bike with tubeless as I can't be bothered.

Over at MIL1's and the stacks are forming again. 1.5 weeks and the clutter is already beginning. Such a waste of our time.

ok here's the plan:

get her on an episode of hoarders

get her on an episode of tiny house living

at least a tiny house can't hold as much junk, plus she'll get to be on 2 tv shows

Agree, but if it's not reasonable over there, we can't send the kids for an evening.
