Can any one tell me if the geometry listed is correct from Yeti's website? Numbers are way different from the 2007 older and the 2010. Seems like it could be a mistake. This is from the 2008-2009 owner's manual.

Geometry DJ
100 mm fork
s l
A 15.5 17.5
B 21 22.4
C 71 71
D 73 73
E 16.9 16.9
F 40 41.2
G 11.5 11.5
H 27.5 29.4
I 4 4

I am also looking for a size recommendation. I am 6 foot tall with average proportions. The bike will only be used for DJ use. For a reference I ride a medium Intense Slopestyle with a 70mm stem for all of my riding (Trail riding, DH and DJ use).

Thanks, Rich

I have a pre-07 large and love it for dirt jumping and even trail riding. For pure DJ or park, I probably could go with the small and I'm 6'1".

Doug,

You use yours for trail use also? What length stem did you set yours up with?
I plan on using it for DJ use mostly but it would be cool for it to work out as the occasional trail bike.

Salami,
The geometry numbers on Jenson's website is right for the 09 frame.
The big difference from that one, and the one Doug has is the 09 frames have a 14 inch seat tube even in the large size. The old one has a much longer seatube and that is the reason Doug gets away with riding trail on it.
I was inbetween sizes on the Yeti frame so I got a the Morewood which splits the difference.

that's incorrect Jeremy... the jenson usa has the "short" TOP TOBE listed as 22".... on the yeti site it's 21"....

when i got the short i measured the toptube (center of head tube to center of seat tube) and it was 21"....

It's okay with me because i ride a 50mm stem and i'm 5'10....

No, you measured the actual top tube length.
Yeti uses the horizontal top tube length like most other companies.
Measure from the top center of your head tube straight across to your seatpost.
If gives you the realistic top tube length counting the seat tube angle.

So it sounds like Yeti has the info backwards in their owner's manuals then. If the numbers are correct on Jenson's site the large/long 2009 sounds like what I am looking for.

I tried calling Yeti to verify today and couldn't reach a soul. They must still must be celebrating turkey day.

WhoRyder I keep hearing different stories on the horizontal dropouts. Did you figure out what the deal is?

To OP:

I ride an 09 long with a 50 mm stem. I am 5' 11" and I love the bike. The extra length allows it to rip smooth single track and hold speed. To be honest I don't really notice the extra length when jumping.

I have ridden a short , also with a 50 mm stem, and I smacked my knees on the handlebars a few times.

Here is chart Yeti e-mailed today. Same chart for the 2009 frame. Much better numbers than what is shown in the owner's manual from their site.

Looks like Jenson and Jeremy are correct.
