Not many of these around in the UK atm but I have mine and took it out today for the first time. Im well impressed with it compared to the 08 Glory I had before it and you do notice the weight difference with the acceleration and it just feels so lively. Think Ive got my head around how the RC4 works and I seem to be getting even more grip every time I have a mess with it, brilliant :thumb:

Cheers to Natedog for the info I needed to have everything ready for when the frame came.

Nice build :) same concern about chainring to cassette ratio...
Did You have opportunity to weigh the frame?

Cheers for all the comments people.

The shop is Bikes and Boards in West Kirby, Wirral. Theyre my local Giant dealer and always sort me out a good deal.

Like I said Im not that tall and the wide bars are just puling me too far over the front, having your weight in the wrong place isnt really something I can get used to. I knew Id have to chop them down when I bought them but the shape is just so nice I had to have them. Plus the colour is awesome :)

Il get you some measurements for the BB height and head angle tomorrow. I meant to weigh it in the shop as I was holding up their workstand and I didnt want to outstay my welcome as they were kind enough to let me use their workshop and tools. Next week at work I can probably weigh it but I know its a touch lighter than my ReignX which has quite a heavy duty build on it. Somewhere around 38lbs with DH tubes. and not really any effort to make it massively light. No Idea about the asterisks I just copied the post from another forum Im on and they appeared.

As for the cassette I like to be pushing quite a hard gear I dont like my legs spinning, its not as if Id be trying to ride it uphill Ive got my other bikes for all that messing about.

can you please measure from the center of the bb to the middle of the lower headtube. i´m about 5´7" and don´t know if i should get a medium or a small. and the effective toptube doesn´t say anything because of the slack seat angle....

thanks!

ST angle is not slack, it's 65,7* accordingly to GUSA. I measured reach - it's ca. 38-39cm - 14,96-15,35".
Does it help?

Thats a pretty random measurement but sure.

Top tube - 20"
BB to Head tube - 26"
Seat tube from BB - 16"

And someone asked about the BB height which is 13" on my build.

Im 5ft 5 and the small fits me perfect so I suppose it depends on if you really like your bike shorter or would like the extra room of the medium and could get along with it being a touch bigger.

Sorry I cant weigh the frame on its own now its built up, it didnt even cross my mind when I went to build it. Im in work tomorrow so Il try to weigh the full thing.

Unless the picture lies I doubt it is 13'' spot on. Looks a lot more like it is closer or over 14'' mark. Did you measure to the center or the bottom of the bb?

You can tell that from the picture?

Im an engineer by trade so am trained in the art of measuring things ;) its just a touch over 13" from the ground its sat on to the centre of the crank bolt.

Being an engineer doesn't proove anything looking at people at my uni ;) And how I've seen it. Maybe it's the photo but the bb axle is clearly above the wheel axle which means it is above 13''. Maybe a side photo would clear things up

BB is somewhere in the 14.25-14.5 range this guy doesn't know how to measure virtual top tube length is wrong too. The geom is on the website
and about every other 2010 Glory post on RM...

The geometry on the website for effective top tube isnt worth anything at all. Giant measures their VTT's different than other manu's, much higher and to the back of the seattube rather than the middle.

will admit though that the BB sounds low.

The small frame i have here, with collar and axle is 4210g/ 9lbs 4.8oz. I don't have a medium frame here today but i recall the last one weighing right about the same.
