The rear post mount standard is not quite as dialed as the IS standard just yet. The adapters between the various rotor sizes has not yet stabalized, especially when going from 160 to 180/185 and 200/203. Since most people will be running the bigger rotors on this bike, we wanted to keep it as flexible and user freindly as possible and still keep the option for a 160 rotor.Gotta ask the reasoning behind that decision?
Rainbow stripes will be on all production bikes. You can also peel them off if you like. All green bikes coming with rainbow stripes?
.... and the bolt-on chainslap guard is neat but lacks coverage. There is a cut-out in it where the chain passes very close the the frame in the 11t/12t cog (only a couple mm clearance), so its getting ditched for soft velcro.

Thanks for the feedback. There should be a clear mylar protector patch inside the chainstay guard window you are talking about. It will protect the paint, and I think you will find that the chain doesn't really rattle much in that direction. Velcro or rubber would be quieter, but it was sort of a trade off to keep the rear end narrow.
Hopefully you will find the protection in all the other areas adequate. You should also find that it rides pretty quiet. Give it a try and let me know how it works before ditching it.

Thanks for the follow up, but ill still be using soft velcro like on my last couple bikes. I like a quiet bike and the clear sticker doesn't deaden noise. Either way the guard doesn't cover the lower 4-5'' of the top seatstay which runs close to the chain, so you will need something extra anyway. Thanks for the feedback. Correct.I assume the demo comes stock in the slack and low position right?

Not a big deal by any means though, any bike you purchase is going to need plenty of work to make it run perfect. The included guard is better than just about anything I've seen come stock with a bike (which is usually nothing), and I much appreciate the trade-off for heel clearance with size 12's. The rest of the bike is so dialed too.
I would also like to high five whoever specced the specialized branded hub, it is near totally silent. I hate loud hubs and ive always wanted a silent one.
I assume we are all talking about the window cut out in the upper CS protector, on the inside wall.(Quick note to JC; why is there a cut out there? There doesn't seem to be a lack of clearance?)
They are with the Warranty RevoltsJC-
Can you give us some insight as to when the framesets will be shipping to US shops?
Thanks!
a star nut if the fork is newWhat exactly i need to get with my frame to mount fox 40 ?
if it comes with a kit to mount it, then what else would you need?- ''Rubber Bumpers and Steerer spacer for FOX40 (included in box)
(apparently new demo is not FOX40 friendly (?) but they got free kit for it)''
I get rubber bumpers part,, but what kind of spacer?
I ask because i plan to buy lower end model and put fox on it ,,, Hope this explains it better for the SMART BOYS on Rm,,,
Thnaks.

Framesets should be arrving any time. Check with your local dealer or call Specialized Customer Service for an exact date. That is what I would have to doJC-

Hmmmm..... I don't have a good answer right this second.I found out the same thing with my LS1 except i run a 38T
I suspect most pro's are better at spinning then most of the guys running 38t. Alot of people like to have alot of resistance in the cranks when they pedal.Hmmmm..... I don't have a good answer right this second.
I do know that we generally prefer the SRS over the LS1/LG1 series. We have found that it retains the chain more securely and there is no taco to lose.
How many of you are running 38t? No disrespect intended - most World Cups are won on 36t - are you really spinning out a 36?
JC
Naah. Pro's just stay off the brakes and carry enough speed over the stuff we need to pedal on.I suspect most pro's are better at spinning then most of the guys running 38t. Alot of people like to have alot of resistance in the cranks when they pedal.
are there any consequences with that? i JUST ordered one yesterday for my demo.It does fit if you don't mind that chain rolls over the top guide. At least that's the case with 36T chainring

My LG1+ fits perfectly with a 35t chainring. Haven't had any issues with either the chainstay or the chain touching the guide.
Low BB and LG1+, I agree = bad idea.It looks pretty clear to me that the placement of the chainstay would require rotating a LG1+ further colckwise than what is optimal - just look how high the chainstay is. If I was getting one a SRS+ would be my choice for a chainguide.
Only the newer Vivids with the perpendicular rebound knob will work. And even then you need an different shock yoke, which will be available aftermarket shortly.Boomslang will a old gen Vivid fit the stock yoke? As far as i can see the area around the eyelet is the same as the new gen with the normal position of the rebound knob. I tried to fit it and it only went in a little bit so i guess that i need a different yoke. As to spinning out a 38T probably not so much in race situations but sprinting down fire roads it happens quiet often and i have already decided to go down to 36T again to gain some clearance since the bb sits currently at 13.25
