20mm hub on the shiver sc

ok quick question about a wheel installation

it's a 2004 shiver sc that i just got, and a wheel, a d321 on a hadley hub that i got from stoney, and when i put the axle throught the wheel, and pop the wheel on, there is about 1-2 mm gap between the right end of the hub from the right fork leg dropout.

the instinct told me to push the fork leg all the way down to assure proper leg compression, and then i clamped the bolts, and as the result there is still a gap between the dropout and the right end of the hub.

is that normal?

yes, perfectly normal. You have to notice the "step" on the axle, and how the opposite leg from the one that you insert the axle in sits on the "step", the "gap" that you see is the "step", so the "step" itself is pushing against the hub and keeping it snug, it doesn't look right, but it is.
