Well at least they aren't going back on their end of the deal...

Six months is a good time for what we're doing," said Cpl. Adam Stefaniec, a combat engineer from Edmonton. "We all have lives back home. If you have six months, you get a little bit of time off, spend some time with family. It makes sense."
who knows what to make of the rest of it though......

I've been saying all along that 6 month tours would be the way to go for us. The Navy does 6 month deployments and it's about right. You are gone long enough to get stuff done, but not too long to miss out on the goods back home.

If the Army did 6 month tours with a 12 month rotation, I don't think there would be nearly as many leaving the ranks. 12+ in country with only 12 at home is too much to ask.

If I could take my time in service and retirement over the border and finish my service with the Canadians...dude...

We are already planning on retiring up there anyway.
