Anyone on here paying for the Mediazone coverage? Should be sick, such a pity RC is out.

And remember kids, it's called the Motocross DES Nations.

The third race is not until later this afternoon right? Are you watching it on Eurosport2?

Yeah, did we chance the name from MXdN to MXoN? That's what the US mags are calling it now. Yet another embarrasing moment for us yanks.

Whoa!-
So much for france,Don't crash Stewart (more than twice,..on the first lap) and we got it in the bag!

This must be what it's like to be an Australian mountainbiker with Hill, Rennie and Kovarik on the start line! At least we got MX.

Landzonderbergen.
Tedesco holeshot and was gone.. Pourcel 2nd, Cairoli 3rd and Villopoto 4th! then Pourcel crashed... Villopoto went up to second and then makes a big mistake (lands outside the track on a big table) Cairoli and Townley went by.. Tedesco has not the strenght to hold on to 1st and makes lots of mistakes! Cairoli up to 1st with Villopoto and Townley behind him.. after that not sure what happend to Tedesco but he finished 6th!

Can you believe that after 10 years Carmichael has only DNF'd 1 race due to injury and it was the last race of his full time pro career, right before Des Nations?!

Stewart was supposed to race mx3, it's cool to see him racing mx1 though (he replaced ricky,Tedesco swaps for Stewarts place in mx3).

For Everts to retire and know he beat young James when he is going sooo damn fast right now is just awesome for him.

Did they battle at all or was it another James goes fast and then crashes type of race?

They did some battles halfway trhough the race.
Stewart had a bad start so he had some catching up to do.
He overtook Everts and shortly after that Everts overtook him again.
After that Everts just kept going faster and faster and I think Stewart just called it a day.
Leok was on it as well overtaking Ramon (who was also on it) in one of the last rounds.
Definitly a really cool race, to bad RC wasnt there as well...

Some of the folks at Supercross.com said that Stewart ran a smart race. Since this was a team race, Stewart only pushed as hard as he had to in order for Team USA to win.

It doesn’t really sound like Stewart crashed or that there was a great battle. Stewart had to finish 2nd to secure USA’s victory and that’s what he did…

That's always a convienent story when you get second place. Stefan will be on the Julipers to night!

The motocross des nations on sunday USA win Everts dominates
24 September 2006, 21:48 by Tim March

well, most everybody who went to the race will be stuck in a traffic jam now, apparently the police say it may be a six hour wait to leave the circuit, blinking heck kids! good job i parked down the road in the bat cave and got back quick enough to write this up. as for the racing. No we didn’t win, however Billy led the field briefly in race three before getting out of shape and dropping back but lead he did and we all freaked out. The USA won, but only just. They were pushed all the way by the New Zealanders and the Belgians, the suprise was the USA team never won a moto. Stefan Everts and Cairoli saw to that. Cairoli saw off Tedesco on his 250f and Stefan saw off everyone on everything. Stefan Everts rode two races that had to be seen to be believed. in the first race James Stewart dropped it early on but despite getting back up quick and making his way back up to an eventual second he never looked for a minute that he would trouble stefan who had holeshotted and was in control the whole moto. in the third moto Phillapaerts led for quite a bit (the italian fans going mad for it) after billy dropped back and James and Stefan were trying to break through into the top spots after mediocre starts for them. this is where it heated up and after them changing position three times Stefan cleared off for good leaving James a distant second with no answer at all for the belgian. Stefan rode round the track faster and with more style with his feet up as usual, what was freaky was he did turns with his feet on the pegs faster than James, much faster, tight turns and rutted turns. No matter what anyone says the man of the day by a country mile was Stefan Everts, his pace and total command of the third race let everyone know what the real deal was. check here for the final results www.motocrossmx1.com.
there looked like 8 million people had turned up to watch the races and the A31 was used as a car park for the afternoon. It was a truly memorable weekend for all. we came fifth by the way, apparently winning isn’t everything, but losing sure does suck. The USA may have won the event with consistency but the belgians, french and italians will be singing all the way home, and dont get me started on the estonians and their air horns for leok, he got a fourth in race three. villopoto, cairoli and townley kicked ass too on the 250fs they hauled hard and fast all weekend. they really did go to town, anyway check the results and if you can watch the races on tv or find someone who has uploaded the torrent on the web, it’ll blow you away. i missed loads of stuff out but forgive me this time, well have a report on it soon enough. goodnight and sweet dreams.
