Highway 71 Classic

The Ozark Off Road Cyclists and the Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks present the 5th annual Highway 71 Classic Sunday, March 23, 2003.
The ride is a fund raiser and membership drive for both of these NWA based advocacy clubs.
The Low Down
Registration starts at 8am at Fayetteville Bike Shop and again in Downtown Winlsow Arkansas located 20 miles south of Fayetteville. Entry fee is $20 and only $10 for current OORC or BCO members.
The $20 gets you an annual membership to either the BCO or the OORC, baked brekafast goodies, ride support, a " I ride highway 71" long-sleeved t-shirt and free pizza after the ride.
About the ride
The Highway 71 Classic is held on US scenic Highway 71 located in Northwst Arkansas. The 71 Classic is actually three rides in one catering to both road and off road cyclists.
"The Big Rig Road Ride" is a 75 mile round trip epic for the serious road rider. A 23 mile flat warm up sets you up for an epic 29 Mt. Stage that sports more than 3,000 feet of climbing and descending over Mt. Gaylor Then kick back for a 23 mile cool down back to Fayetteville.
"The Road Mt. Stage" is a 29 mile ride from Winslow to Mt. Burg and back. The ride is set up for the recreational rider who wants a challenging and scenic ride.
"The Mega Mountain Ride" is a 32 mile on/off road ride for the hard core mt. biker. after 16 miles over Mt. Gaylor hit county roads, trails, and for another 10 then climb 1,2000 feet in just 3 miles back up Mt. Gaylor before coasting back into Winlsow.
As stated before there will be food and water stations and a sag vehicle and a pizza party at 5 at Tiny Tim's pizza on the Fayetteville Square.
