I got this new fork on my Brooklyn Machine Works Mini Link FQ.
The Dorado SC works soooo got. Like a good friend of mine told me:"It's hard to find a fork that lives up to the frame and avy shock..."

So happy. What you think? Any ideas on how to make the fork look better with the bike? I was thinking of painting the red parts on the fork pink instead! :D

very funny marcus. why stop at the forks, send that frame in for a complete pinking. joking, really...i discourage you from considering it further and agree with mmcg, it's gorgeous as is. you still rockin' pink on the tt? might clash with the red. i mean...if you're really worried about looks. ;)

good to hear that fork is working out well for you. looking forward to ride shots with it. did you read about shortbus setting his mini up for xc? he loved it. cool, huh.

XC? What what!!!

I am going to get it painted pink this winter. No foolin'. i am! It's so cool.

But come on - the pegion blue with gold and pink! That's just pimpin' sweet!!!

Bet stylemaster Rob would like that.

That's pretty slick. Just peel off the stickers on the fork guards and, if you want, repaint the guards or just cover them with the usual brand-conscious sticker array.

Bearclaw got Manitou to custom make him pink Dorado decals (dekels if you are canadian) at a cost of like $1000 or something ridiculous! At least that was the gossip at RBR anyway...Don't remove the decals though because they are very thick and intended to help protect the carbon fiber underneath them. If you do remove them, cover the bare carbon with some self adhesive clear protective vinyl. FOX used to sell sheets of it in their MX catalog.

yep, shorty xc'd the little whipper snapper. you can check out his review on the "bmw porn..." thread, 3rd page.

lol. stylemaster rob and his pink spooky. if you could out-bling him on the pink the way he out-blinged me on the chrome then i'll re-think my position on pinking your mini.

edit: "Bearclaw got Manitou to custom make him pink Dorado decals.....Don't remove the decals though because they are very thick and intended to help protect the carbon fiber underneath them."

that's awesome bearclaw did that. got photos? props for the heads up on the detriment of removing the decals.

I saw his bike at the RBR and it was pink but his decals were still normal. From what I heard, Manitou was scrambling to get them made and out to Utah for the event but when Darren pulled out due to injury, they stopped the rush. I think I have since seen them in pink in a video or picture but I personally don't have any pics.

I don't ride anything particular. I'm just a playrider.:)

but i use it for everything. DH, freeride, shore, stairgaps, even dirtjumps.

Yes dirtjumps. Don't believe me? I'll post a pic soon.

It's a great all round bike.

yeah man just a rumor from my friend, he rode his boys' fq and he said it felt twitchy riding it b/c it wasn't balanced out, probably the setup and this guy has like a tmx, mini link and a big link so he has experienced the rides of the bmws. He also stated it's just over kill for street, too plush. In my words, i think i'll lik eit for lots of stair gaps, freeriding, and dirt jumps. Dude i believe u probably do dirt jump on that thing b/c i have friends dirt jumping on their tmx's and i dirt jumped on my super 8 lots of times. But right now i have an evil imperial that i used for street and dirt jump. Anyway have fun w/ that ride and hey it looks sick dude....Peace

yes the mini is quite a (heavenly) twitchy bike compared to the TMX. That's what makes it so unique and great for street and XC. I have a taller fork on mine so it kind of compensates the steep-er (not SO steep) angles. It's a very plush bike, but remember that doesnt hinder pedalling at all.

Twitchy is a bad word. Aggressive - Yes.

Overkill for street? Depends what you mean? Skatepark and bunnyhops - yes overkill. But if you are talking stairgaps, drops and different kind of terrain jumps, it's excelent!

YES ^^^^ that's what i meant :D

It bunny hops allright fo me... at least WAY better than say a TMX or a RM9...
Not sure the word bunny hop should ever be used with bikes like those though :p

I think he meant not setup right to his liking.

Hey MArcus i'm real curious did you just spray paint that rim or did you do proper powder coat? I know spray paint works wonders when done right, my current handlebar on my mini used to red, 4 dollars and a can of spray paint later it's a pimpin' black that last very well. I might join your gold front rim cult meeself :D

Spray painted. Just covered the spokes with some tape, and painted with a gold spray then a clear coat. It holds up okay and can be washed and everything, but you have to be careful when changing tires.

YEAH IT WSN'T SETUP RIGHT TO HIS LIKING. IT HAD THE SHIVER DC FORK ON IT AND HE SAID IT DIDN'T FEEL BALANCED THE WAY IT RODE, MAYBE B/C HE RIDES HIS TMX AND BIG LINKS A LOT AND HOPPING ON A FQ IS WAY DIFERENT. i AGREE IT'S NOT OVERKILL FOR STAIRGAPS BUT YEAH OVER KILLA FOR SKATEPARK. I'M THINKING OF GETTING ONE MYSELF..

3.5 Kilos!

but it's worth every penny. I really can't explain how much i love this bike. Just ask Shortbus.

You know the feeling you get when you look at a new bike you have just gotten? you will have that feeling forever with the Mini.

Well also keep in mind these are far far far from being production line frames. They fall more into the special order type of biznis... think ferrari :D

This of course means that the brooklyn frames' construction process doesn't undergo price and profitability adjustment measures, things usually lead by marketing folks... (i.e. think along the lines of "everyone in the marketing team wants a bigger piece of the pie")....

This shows in the product IMO.
