Hey nice post of the bmw bmx setups. Actully i was riding w/ one of the guys from Brooklyn. It's Lb from brooklyn and he was tearing up the dirt jumps in the city w/ his bmx fully. I remember when he had his TMX and he was throwing that setup like a 20", no lie fellas. Well 2morrow i will have a spanking FQ and gonna build it up, just need to throw handle bars and wheelset and i'll be crushin it!!! By the way, anybody in here have DOC bars w/ out the cross brace they wanna trade for my 3" doc bars w/ the cross brace?

this post would have MANY more pics but ever since we were limited to the number of pics allowed per user, many cool bmw related photos have been deleted to make room for new ones.
true. but RM's free and so good to us all, i don't want to complain.

knucks...get ready for a load of pics to host on that site. johnny rotten, that's mighty punk rock of you. (didja catch the ramones documentary by any chance? great great flick IMO.) is there an underscore between "johnny" and "rotten", or just a space? thanks for offering to host.

tanker, LB RULES! such a fluid creative talented rider and a damn good soul too. did you get any photos? anyone remember the video on the old site with the dude doing the no footer? that was LB. i'm trying to convince him to come to mtn creek before it closes to get shots of him styling up dominion. those DJ's in riverside have a stronghold on him though. LB's for president.

It's johnny_rotten@verizon.net (yes, underscore)
HA HA. Hey, I hung out with Marky Ramone (last one alive) and Jerry Only from the Misfits last weekend. It was awesome. It was at a misfits show in Worcester. Marky was a bit sketchy. I met him before the show, but after the last song, he ran off to the side of the stage and the manager came up to him and was like "Marky, hotel?"
Marky replied "yeah, hotel" and FOOM, out the door they went.

Jerry is awesome, after the show, he was out in the audience for like 1 hour solid signing every autograph and taking pics with fans. It kinda sucks caus I haven't listened to the Misfits for years and the sound system sucked so I couldn't decipher a lot of the tunes, but man, those guys rocked and rocked hard. Jerry is so built, he doesn't even break a sweat goin 90mph for 2 hours straight with no_break. Just pure raw energy. I have a new found admiration for those guys. I don't know what was up with Marky (who was playing drums)
Maybee he had to get a fix or something. Poor guy, all his bro's are dead and gone, must be tough for him.

Chit, I diddn't know this, but he lives in Brooklyn, LOL

Marky tells why 'If you sit still, that's when you die'. This highly motivated member of The Ramones, keeps moving with his own book and the Remains.

DM) I see is that you're in Brooklyn too.

MR) Yeah, I live in Brooklyn too, but I usually don't say what area, I've got to keep that asecret. I had to move out of New York City for that reason.

Sweet. youre making a good decision with the RL compared to other DH frames IMO. welcome to da club! Where are you from? Are you racing DH with it or freeriding??

I ordred my RL a more than a month ago and, FWIW, when i ordered mine, there was one left unspoken for in the batch that they had going at that time. Do they still have that one available?

As for color, the RL does not come apart easy thus it is more of an ordeal to get it re-powder coated so pick your colors wisely and take care of it. I have changed colors of previous frames sometimes two times in a year cause the powdercoater is close and pretty cheap and i get bored easy. So my new RL is all black and I'll keep occupied changing colors of the parts instead of the frame color. Im also going to wrap it up when i go racing so that the downtube, BB and swing arms dont get banged up.

Yeah i figured it wouldnt be easy to get it repainted thats why i post my question. What color do you think i should get? i want something different . Like i said i was thinking pink main and swing or maybe to match the dorado like white main, black swing and red decals.... or even maybe baby blue the whole thing. im open to suggestions

Oh man that colour choice thing - When I ordered my Racelink it took me ages to decide before I went for red mainframe and swingarm with black spring and decals. Now I'm wondering if I should've gone for white spring and decals... To complicate matters further there's a new lacquer they'll do over your colour which apparently glitters in different colours as the light hits - a bit too pimp for my tastes but I cant wait to see it ! Regarding availability Ged (Brooklyn UK mainman) told me the current batch are all sold now...

Hey I'm from ontario also. I'm the only person i know of who has a racelink around here. so you might be the 2nd. Currently it's all orange, but I might be changing that when I send it in.

right on! ive never seen your bike around at the races or at blue. where in ontario are you? Yeah im pretty sure youd be the only one right now with a brooklyn race link as the only store i know in ontario that sells them is East Side Cycle in Kitchener . They've had 3 frames in stock but they all went to people outside of Canada.

They used to have lots of cool colors - Kawasaki green, seafoam green, purple, Hi-C orange, putty orange, pigeon blue (I know they've got this). Lots of cool colors.

I have no idea nowadays though....

As of now, my Racelink is up for sale. Open to offers, and i'l ship anywhere providing the buyer pays shipping. Reason for sale : I just don't ride it. It's been ridden once properly since ive had it, completely pointless!

So yeah, if any of the worldwide brooklyn crew are interested, shoot me and offer.

Cheers all. :(

For sale: One chrome race link.

NOT!

AR, you ought not to meander in here depressed about selling your bike then tell us you're getting a moto instead. Hrrmmffff! If you think it's been tough getting the racelink to riding spots...what are you going to do, rig a trailer up to your BMX bike to tow your MX bike to a track?? Have you any idea how much more expensive it is to maintain a moto vs. a pedal?

I saw Fred not long ago and he said he missed his bike. Maybe you can sell it back to him for a little more than what you paid and have enough money for your moto and your Bklyn BMX. hehe.

I shouldn't joke. This is not a laughing matter.

Nah, i've got friends that have all the transport required for me to get to mx tracks (There are FAR more around here than dh tracks), plus a now steady (ish) income should allow me to maintain it.

Edds out, that leaves me completely and utterly on my own. No transport, no nothing, just one racelink gathering dust.

Like edd said, the little voice has won. I don't want to sell it, but it's such a waste, even if edd did stay in dh we would still never ride, i rely on him and his van so we can get about, and he's just not had the time, so without him, even the odd bi-monthly trip to anywhere is off. It suck major ass, but i guess i've just gotta accept it and do something else.

ok, so i called BMW today they said: the yellow hardtail you saw is a prototype bike. Its a 26" version of the park bike. They are available as fully custom frames for $900, but if enough intrest comes up, they will go into a normal production phase and pricing will be same as or just above the park bike :)

Hardtail hucking is where the sh!t's at. Hardtail hucking is the most hardcore biking gets IMO. That yellow hardtail gives me a stiffy :D:D Is that wrong?
