This year we have been adding registrants as they register on our web site. If you are curious about who's racing, or how many in your class, see either DH or SD Registrants. As always the Chainless DH is very popular. www.downhillmike.com > DH or SD Registrants on the main menu.

There are 3 non pro categories at this race + the new Open DH. To race in category 1 (expert) you need a annual USA Cycling license that allows you to race in category 1. Cost is $60.00 for adults and $30.00 for under 18 and collegiate racers. 1 Day licenses are $10.00 per each day you race, comes with 1/2 the medical insurance coverage of the annual license and only allow you to race in category 2 (sport) or category 3 (beginner).

This year we added a Open Downhill category. This Open DH category is for fast racers that do not race USAC races. Please note that the Open DH category does not qualify you for the Nationals give you or offer any USAC points. Registration for this Open DH category does include your required USA Cycling 1 Day license.

WHY THE F**K DID YOU DECIDE TO HOLD THIS THE SAME WEEKEND AS A FONTANA RACE!?!?!?!

Seriously, that makes no sense. Why not hold it a week earlier, or a week later. Some of us want to chase Fontucky points, AND do other races.

Sorry about that Brent. Not trying upset anyone. Maybe this will help explain: The timers were not available on other dates, the permit was bought 1 year in advance and there were other races that conflicted before (Teva Winter Games) and after ( ?). And there has been a race every year at Bootleg on Presidents Day Weekend for at least a decade. We have some racers that are not happy because this race also conflicts with a Super Cross event. Avoiding any other races is getting harder and harder, or impossible.

As of today, our on-line registration is ahead of both of our (2009) Mob in Mojave and the (2011) Nevada State Champs. Categories are filling up and we expect some great competition. Especially in the Open Chainless Race. It's the most popular category so far!

We would like to thank all of the Reaper Madness DH & SD racers! You guys totaled 222 racing in the Downhill races and 67 racing in the Super D race. The pro winners were Mitch Ropelato and Jacqueline Harmony.
Next race on deck for us is the Whiteface 5 K DH which will also be the 4th Pro GRT this year. The Whiteface Pro GRT will offer downhill racing on the 5 K DH course and an adult and kids dual slalom race on a brand new ds course. This Pro GRT race on 6-16/17, 2012 is part of the larger Wilmington/Whiteface Bike Fest.
Our final race for the 2012 racing season ill be the biggest of all! The US/Canadian Open at Whiteface will be a joint venture between the Whiteface Mountain Bike Park and Tuf Rack, and offer a whopping $10,000.00 cash purse!! $5,000.00 for the pros and 5,000.00 for the amateurs. Yep, $5,000.00 for the amateurs!
