Yo,

My new bike is almost finished (porn coming soon) but all Im missing are brakes and adaptors. Ive checked the obvious (Jenson & Supergo) but before I commit, just wanted to check if anyone knows any sites that are blowing out brakes right now.

TANKS!

Hopes are TOO MUCH MONEY~

Thanks Dex, those are the cheapest ive seen yet for the HFX Nines.

Anyone know if there's a huge performance jump between the Nines and the Mags or are the Nines pretty solid?

There is a place called bobs bikes that does mail order and also sells a bunch of stuff NEW on ebay. Their ebay price for Hayes HFX-9's WITH adaptors is $199. Best deal around by far.

GET THE HFX-MAGS!!!

The 9s are cheap pieces of crap, I've had two of 'em die on me, and I just recently upgraded to the Mags, which are totally sweet. Spend the extra cash to get the Mags, it's worth it.

I picked up a spare rear hayes HFX-Mag from price point with a 8" rotor for $109. That was the cheapest I found on the HFX-mag with 8" rotor.

I figured if a caliper needed to be replaced, they are like $50+, if the lever gets mangled it's gonna be $50+, so I just got the whole assembly. Pads, rotor, everything.

I searched everywhere. That was the cheapest retail store I found for a NEW set

Screw that. I cant get a set for under $400 from those bastards. And while, yes, I am cool with the guys that work there, im not going to ever pay anything more than I have to because i dont have money to toss around like that...and even if i did, I wouldnt because its just dumb to throw money away in any case. The business was there before I started riding. I am not responsible for its survival nor is it for mine.

Anyway, I bought Skookum's set for $150:p
