Got a gobro for my birthday. I have a helmet mount but find that I prefer watching most footage from chest cams. There are tons on amazon for $9-40 for the real thing. Has anybody bought one that's held up and worked well? I'm fairly average in size so I'm not worried about fit/sizing, but I'd like to make sure it'll last for at least a season of occasional riding.

I already have a starter kit with a couple of stick on helmet jams, my helmet came with a stick on, and my wife got me a headband mount...just need the chesty to accompany it/as an alternative.

I have the CamKix one, blue. Sorta works with my el-cheapo xinese cam.

Just get the gopro branded one, flip the orientation to upsideown and set the thing at a 45, works fine. That said I only use mine for photos and hate it because I feel like an idiot with it on. The only good way to do it is with a gimbal but I don't give a damn about video so take it for what it's worth.

If you´re using a Leatt Brace, just stick a mount to that. It stays in place better than the chest mount, with less trail chatter being tranferred to the cam, is cheap and you don´t have to use (additional) straps around your chest. It´s even in a better position since it sits higher up and gives a more accurate take of the riders view.

I´ve bought myself a cheap china mount from amazon for skiing though. It looks like the Smatree one. Seems good quality so far, and for the price i can buy 10 more before i hit the pricetag of the original GoPro. Seems good enough for me. I don´t think you can go wrong with any that has a decent rating on amazon or other sites like that.

I ended up with the smatree one. It seemed to have the highest ratings for the price. I agree that 6 of these equals one of the real deal, and after recieving it, I can see why...it's a pretty simple piece of gear. Now to shoot shitty, slow gopro footage to speed up and post on pinkbike.
