DH is at Sugar Mtn, Slalom at the college.Where is the slalom? Are they using the Norba course? or at the College?
GO MOTO!!!!
2.5 Comp 16s all the time for me, wet or dry. there's rocks almost all the way down with some really hard hits in places.Lehigh U. will be there with 3 DH racers. What do you locals think the best tires are for Sugar? I'm thinking if its wet maybe 2.2" Comp 16s?
Goose $hit covered in motor oil lane would have been a better name.just don't tell them about Lizard's Lane...suffice it to say..the name is appropriate..

You guys driving out? Why only 8 racers? We the people of Mesa State (Messed State I'm told) will be in attendence with 13 people (8 racers). Slopedside condo or house I'm told! See y'all out in Sugar!!!
balls! I'm bringing the mudders.Looks like the roots will be a little slick when we get there! Saturday might be tacky though! Check it out: http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USNC0038?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared
full on mud tires don't do to well here. it doesn't really get deep mud, just a thin, really slippery surface that is really hard to ride when wet. lots of rocks.I've got a set of swamp things, wet screams and minions. Depending on how rocky this course is, I know it is, a swamp thing on front, minion on rear. We'll see!
Slow your roll, DSapp.. the sport course is fully functional and they'll put the Am's on it, I'm sure.If they don't have any dh experience they shouldn't try to learn on this track on an xc bike, it's much more dh bike appropriate. There aren't really any go arounds but they could walk stuff, I would recommend normal shoes though!
Which brings it all back to why they only want to let "A" racers compete in the national championships.everyone runs the same course butch. there is no split for ability levels, just mens and womens and Division1 and Division2, with everyone on the same course. thats kind of been the problem, having a bunch of XC people with no experience running DH for individual or team overall points and getting broke off in the process.
umm....if they run the course we built for NORBA Nats...get your bandaids out.everyone runs the same course butch. there is no split for ability levels, just mens and womens and Division1 and Division2, with everyone on the same course. thats kind of been the problem, having a bunch of XC people with no experience running DH for individual or team overall points and getting broke off in the process.
You should see the fog out here, then you wouldn't be laughing so much
I was just wondering the same thing. It's been fine every weekend until now... just like it was pouring rain the whole time at the nmbs race here. what the hell.why'd the damned drought have to end just in time for nats? I hope the slalom dries out by sunday.
FYI...look at the weather all you want....but once you hit Lizards Lane after everyone's tossed creek water on the rocks...it's ****tastic.Bring it on!!!
Weather still looks awesome! It looks like Sunday might be nice, Saturday will still be a little slick and Friday might be a bit of a Gong show! To all us west coasters, especially those unexperienced in Mud, do your research and figure out how to ride mud before you go! Didn't visit the east coast this year, might be a little rusty, we'll see! Here is the weather forecast:
