why spend money on a heavy hardtail, when you can spend it on a fs bike that is lighter than that bike. There are plenty of bikes that are lighter than that, they can be climbed, jumped, dhed, XC. Its called an all-mountain bike. And once again you live very close to sb and ride in sb so you cant make any anti sb comments.mtnbrider said:There's nothing wrong with that. As said, people like Ht's with big forks because they can climb, but still go huge. They are also cheaper, simpler, and less expensive than a big FS bike. Secondly, that bike is made for a tall fork. It would probably be really steep with a short DJ fork.
Seriously, wtf is in the water down there?
I have no idea how good will the Morphine do when you go big.... but I'm sure most of the "all-mountain" work like **** in serious DH course...SBDownhillRacer said:why spend money on a heavy hardtail, when you can spend it on a fs bike that is lighter than that bike. True, I live close (keyword), not in. It's just too much fun to make fun of SB.SBDownhillRacer said:why spend money on a heavy hardtail, when you can spend it on a fs bike that is lighter than that bike. no youre an SB kid. hate to break it to youmtnbrider said:True, I live close (keyword), not in. It's just too much fun to make fun of SB.
i dont care if you dont live in sb, your still borderline retarted.mtnbrider said:True, I live close (keyword), not in. It's just too much fun to make fun of SB.
I'll second that with a werd up.Red Bull said:i dont care if you dont live in sb, your still borderline retarted.
that bike is practical. If you had put a dual crown fork on that then i may question it. I think its a nice lookin frame, but not with a dual crown fork.sixsixtysix said:Morphines rock They are not nearly as heavy as they look, the frame is just over 6lbs and the dropouts on it are the thickest things I have seen, nearly twice as thick as on my fully. The geometry on it is good too, set it with a 5" SC and its makes a good urban/dj/XC bike, throw a 7" DC on it and it makes a burly freeride hardtail.
But if you are going for confused... heres mine in single speed DJ/XC mode.
post that in the burly hardtail thread right now!SBDHrida said:I think this bike needs some therapy to get its purpose in life straight.
Mtnbrider- You're on my ignore list, but i wasn't signed in when i saw this thread, and i feel obliged to fill you in on something. SBDHRida is a respected mechanic at Cyclepaths bikeshop in Tahoe each summer, does well in jr. x downhill, and is a bright kid you can actually have a conversation with. He signed up here on RM with no knowledge of the hated SB kids, and made his name extremely similar to theirs; on accident. Please don't clump him in with zmtber and whoever all those other kids are (i think i have most of them on my ignore list anyways.)mtnbrider said:There's nothing wrong with that. Ah, the good 'ol "you're an idiot for thinking I was serious, even though I really was" excuse.mtnbrider said:You know I was joking the whole time though, right?
A single speed is simple, easy to fix, and there is no der. to wack, although its much harder to ride on a mountain.dwnhlldav said:Some people just love hardtails. I love the morphine, with a Dual crown. There is just something about going big on a hardtail.
Whats the point of a Single speed?
I was just about to post that the best day I ever had on my Morphine was when I put the shiver on it... Dont knock it before you try it.RhinofromWA said:Where's Oly? He rocked a Morphine with a Shiver (I think it was a shiver)
He said it worked great. Oh and I think it was a single speed at the time for a Gravity assisted XC ride.
It actually has a Sherman Slider on it now, along with gears. It actually rides better with a bigger fork on it. The front end doesn't feel high at all and it manuals like crazy.SBDownhillRacer said:that bike is practical. If you had put a dual crown fork on that then i may question it. I can't see a pic... what is it? a Moriphine w/a Monster T?... different strokes for different folks...SBDHrida said:I think this bike needs some therapy to get its purpose in life straight.
