I think it has somthing to do with theres better qaulity or the sound is messed up on other computers cause it clearly says one of the greatest mountain bikers in the world- gee atherton and its pretty obvious hes riding a pike and yes they were racing, it explains it all.
I don't mean any of that to sound like im flaming im just saying.

When he asked if they were really racing, I think he was trying to suggest that maybe the whole thing was staged for TV, rather than an actual head-to-head race down their respective courses.
Cool clip but ask yourself, coincidence that the car was at the road gap when Gee jumped it? Did Gee allow all those cameras mounted to his bike for the weird cameras angles during his race? How many camera men did they use to shoot this?
I think it was all set up so it would be easier to shoot and look better on video. Gee would have beaten him by a larger margin in a real race.
My brother rides his dirt bike at a place where we have DH races. I told him I could smoke him down the same steep, rocky, tight trail on my DH bike. He doesn't believe me. I hope he doesn't hurt himself trying to stay up.
Top Gear has to be one of the best shows on TV right now, and once you accept that their "challenges" are staged and go along for the ride with them, it's fantastic watching. There's a better quality version of that segment elsewhere, maybe videos.google.com
Top Gear is very entertaining. Much of it is set up, but it is very good watching. I dl them with bitorrent, the quality is much better than that vid. That clp is from Season 7, Ep. 4. also featuring the £10,000 supercar shootout. Pretty funny stuff.
