where in VT?

if north: take 91 south to 93 south all the way to boston
if south: take 91 to rt. 2 east all the way to boston
if west: take 89 south to 93 south all the way to boston
if east: take 91 south to 93 south all the way to boston

93 only has 1 $.75 toll (each direction)

cool, take rt 100 east to rt 9 south. take that to 91 south, then hop on rt 2 east in mass. take that for about an hour and 15 min til you get to 128. take 128N for about 15minutes, then hop on 93 south. that will take you right into boston.

there are other, faster ways to get there, but involve a lot of not-so-big highways, so the chances of getting lost would increase. 91, 2, 128 and 93 are all pretty big and straightforward, so getting lost shouldn't be an issue.
