Santos, outside of Ocala has everything. Miles of singletrack, complete freeride area, and dirt jumps. Make the trip it will be worth it. There is a campground right at the main trailhead.
Tons of pics here.

Awesome. I totally forgot about Santos. I remember reading about it a couple years ago and asking some guys at the bike shop about it and they hadn't ridden it so I guess I forgot. Great pics. Thanks.

No fee, no permission slip. The only drop that is roped off is the 20fter. It's only open during comps. If you haven't been there the place is a blast. Built for all levels. The freeride and DJs are about a 3mile easy trail ride from the campground but you can drive and park at that trailhead also.

how do you get there from 75?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=http://www.omba.org/images/stories/Maps/omba.org-FL-MTB-Trails-2010-m3.kmz&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=29.095252,-82.108212&spn=0.039075,0.076904&z=14

Check this out. I lifted this pic from their FB page. Apparently the guy was traveling ~25mph. what kind of velocity would require a stick to ram this much through your leg. A little bit I can understand but feet-wise? Just curious. Had some bad wrecks but nothing like this. (k-o-w) OUCH!

The map posted by tree has the trailheads listed on the left side. The "Santos" trailhead is the main one where the campground is. The Vortex trailhead is where all the freeride features are. There are about 60 miles of trails in the area and they link to a series of rail/trails that actally cross the state.

that is brutal and almost unreal. if the stick went thru the leg wouldn't there be blood covering at least one end on the stick.

You should check out San Felasco in Alachua, FL. Its about an hr west of jax and is awesome xc riding. I wanna say theres about 60 miles of trails there at this point and a decent amount of elevation change (especially for florida).

On a side note, how is Hanna park these days? That was the first place I ever rode mountain bikes at. I think i've still got every root and turn memorized haha. I love that park.

Thanks, I will check it out. 60 miles of trail - sweet! and elevation change in FL would be a welcome sight for sure.

How is Hanna? All I can say is ..... ugh!
I got eaten by "Misery" 3 weeks ago and was bed ridden for 2, but finally up walking around the last week. I won't go into too much detail but I smashed my pelvis and ruptured a disc. Recovery is slower then I'd like but hope to be back in full form to ride Tsali in August.

Yes, Hanna is always a blast.... now, if those trees would quit jumping out at me ............ (hence my screen name)

Graham swamp down in palm coast is a good trail. Some jumps and skinnies thrown in here and there on a 6 mile loop. Best ridden after a rain shower.
