Sounds like you are trying to do the right thing. I'd give it a little more time for someone to contact you directly, since the owner may not have filed a police report (even though they should have) and thus may never find out about it if you turn it in. If you haven't already, post on some other forums as well. If you want to put in more effort you could check out the "stolen bike" posts on various forums and craigslist as well, you might find a match that way.
I posted on CL, but couldn't find a "stolen" post for this bike.
I signed up for Pinkbike just to post the bike up.
I also know a local park rider who works at Fox and he is posting it on his Facebook as well as putting up posters at the local park.
if its a medium santa cruz chameleon with a judy xl fork and a rear brake with neon yellow brake housing and blue anodized primo pedals setup as a single speed then its mine that was stolen about 10 years ago...
