Hey guys, I am having a bit of an issue with my '06 40 R. I am trying to take the lowers off, but the plunger shaft (left/preload side) is turning in the stanchion when I try to remove the bottom nut. Is there a way to secure the plunger shaft while I loosen the nut? Or am I missing something here? Any help here would be awesome.

Do you have the top cap on and spring still installed? If not, do that, then remove once the nut is off. If they're still on, turn the fork over, and preload it a bit as you turn the nut. If you can get the spring to produce a bit of a force on the plunger it'll take care of it.

I keep the wheel on and have someone put all their weight on the handlebar. This creates enough grip.
