Need to build up a new front wheel for the big bike.
Had one go out for Taco's, and has not been in any shape to work since.

Bike is a 26" Knolly Podium with a 888.

Anyway, the question is - Do I build a 26", or do I try a 27.5?
Kinda future proof one wheel anyway.
The fork can do dual duty - run either size.

One downside, is I would have to buy the new wheel some shoes....

Thoughts? - especially if you have done the 27.5/26 thang.

You might as well do 27.5. It'll work fine with the 888. But aren't newer forks 15mm axle?? I don't know since I haven't looked at DH forks in a long time.

27.5 gives a bigger benefit on the front in my experience (noticeably less bump transmission to hands / arms), definitely do it if possible.

Just be wary of things like geometry and crown clearance at full bottom out - it's good to remove the spring and check after installing the new wheel. Obviously HA will get slacker and BB higher, particularly if you need to raise the fork A2C to allow clearance. It's better if you can reset the geometry to some extent, unless you actually want those changes.
