i rode profiles for years (maybe ten?) and now i have fsa x-drives. they seem to be just as nice to me. I have one of their grinder sprockets too. good stuff.
I'd say comparable. I have heard that the only thing that separates them is that Profile has superior bearings, but I don't know. The X'Drives are a great value and I had a pair with no problems at all.
I've had 2 pairs of the x-drives. One of them is perfect, no problems at all. On the other, I think they had badly cut threads for the pedals. Landed a jump and the pedal ripped out. Having said that, they may just have given up under a lot of abuse, but other cranks have taken more (including my other set of FSAs).
