Jonas and I are in agreement that this bike looks awesome in a sculpture/ art sort of way.

Not sure why xy9ine refered to the 2-stage thread.
I guess it's going to be rockin' a Rohloff hub in there.
I'd like to see the finished product and a new website.
Beautiful frame.
MMMM, gearbox bikes.

I like the name. (a lahar is a kind of mud avalanche type thing that comes with a volcano eruption)
Most people who have passed 9th grade know that. But thanks anyways. Also it's mud and vaporized lava.

looks like he got some molds!

last time i talked to him, well,.... the only time he said he
built the over a wood plug then cut it out and sanded the crap
to make it look smooth.

now the outside look to be molded no sanding with a maching inside
or blater.

those are some clean part. but i never liked my lower swing link.
they do get hit hard.

I had no idea what a lahar was. Maybe it's because I never took geology.
Me neither. I know what it is because my school system isn't crappy;)

Anyways now you know. And the name fits very well with suck a slick downhill bike.

looks to have a 4-1 leverage ratio.
bit off the back there.
but with the shock placement that is the way it has to be

Since I'm feeling belligerent, what math course did you take as a freshman?

the suspension pretty much looks like a pdc solaris, but maybe doesn't rise?

That thing is beautiful. But the BB looks insanely high.
i think it was intended as a light weight freeride bike.

It looks like a cannondal scalpel and the IT1 had a bastard carbon love child. The finish quality on that carbon is shockingly perfect.

IT was designed as a dh race bike. someone said they are around 42 with a resonal build
Not at all, its a FR bike and the geometry is all wrong for DH racing.

maybe you could send him a carbon upright to go between the two pivots of the rear triangle

Yeah, which is strange because the older Lahars had insanely LOW bottom brackets (Sundays looked like skyscrapers in comparison).
maybe coz rocks would eat the lower link for lunch? mmmmm..... carbon.

I believe they designed that rear triangle to flex, particularly the chainstay, as there is no pivot at the rear wheel. Sorta like the ibis softail, or the old gary fisher sugars.
