Go to your user cp and unsubscribe from anything that it says you are subscribed to.

At one point I accidentally subscribed to some threads, you just gotta get better aim with your clicker

Problem solved, I did not even see the TINY unsubsrcibe button.

It would be waaay cool if "Email Notification"'s default was not checked instead of vise versa...
