That bike should be a lot of fun. If the 2004 really have solved the flex problem, which I don't doubt, it'll be hard to beat.

Standard front derailleurs don't fit.

The SGS Team and Pro require a lot of patience to make front derailleur compatible. The BB shell is *huge* on these frames, and no one makes a derailleur that can swing over far enough.

I managed to get an E-type front derailleur + DRS working on an 03 SGS Team, but it took a lot of time and patience to figure out. I have pix buried somewhere if anyone is interested.

A little fairy tells me that all may be a bit easier with the introduction of a new Shimano BB for wideshell BB's this fall. You'll still have to rig a FD cablestop but can prolly rig a clamp on derailleur. The jury is still out till I see it done in person though.

i just did the de rigeur wheel between the knees test on an upgraded 03 frame just like yours (friend broke his 03 swingarm and got a new one, nice CS) and there is a definite improvement, pretty good actually

the weight difference however was half a pound. just for the new chainstay, no idea how much weight the 3 piece upper linkage adds.

<edit> didnt understand myself the first time...
