Last time I tried their website was several months ago and now their site is not working. Did those guys go out of business or are they just experiencing technical difficulties? I sure hope it's the latter.

yeaH? works for me too. I've pretty much bought all my stuff from Ben. I hope he doesn't go out of business! The only stuff I don't buy from him are the small things, like cables, brake pads, etc. etc. that I get from Treys Ture Wheel in Watsonville Ca. Another very cool individual with personalized service that kicks ass!

The good thing about unrealcycles is it seems to be a one man operation, and because of that I can call and say
"whats up Ben this is Doss, I need a blah blah blahblahblah",
and he helps me put together what I need.

Only a few individuals I know work at LBS's, and they can only hook me up when their "Boss" isn't around, and even when they do hook me up the deals are no where close to what Unreal hooks up.

especially when you buy out of state, you don't have to pay taxes! Thats Huge!!!

If you do live in the Santa Cruz Area, I do highly suggest Treys ture Wheel, otherwise shop at Unreal!

i called up a few days ago, and got his voicemail, and it was still Unreal Cycles. so i assume he's around. he took orders for DOCs, as well. i remember a while ago, he was looking to update his site. regardless, his site is working for me, too.

I figured they're still around, but I hadn't seen any of these type of threads lately where everybody pretty much says Ben rocks. I guess my ISP must have been having trouble yesterday because now I get the page just fine.

I get the same great service from drop n' zone. The guy there is named Allen. He has hooked me up with some serious deals. I have bought stuff from him for around the same price that my local bikes shop pays.

I was at The Gathering last weekend, but just chilling with my girl watching the riders bust out their moves. I still remember the Icepeeps events. Its insane how big things are getting. Both the skills and the market are growing huge.

The web server goes down occasionally, it’s stupid. I’ll be moving to a new host when the new website goes live. I’m running limited hours in the shop through the winter, generally from 12-5PST, but you should be able to reach me just fine. And of course I always return messages.

You might not hear as much about Unreal Cycles these days just because things have been slow. I pretty much spent all of 2004 waiting for a website to happen that never did (thanks to my stupid flaky lame-ass unprofessional web dip****). Its hard being competitive online when your storefront (the website) is something scraped off the backside of 2001. I held off on advertising and stuff until the website was ready, and since it never was, nothing really happened last year. I got lots of cool new stuff in stock and even more planned for 2005, and I built dozens of bitchin bikes with photos to show the world… but without the new website no body gets to know. It’s pretty lame.

Well, I’m spending about 6 to 8 hours a night working on the new website myself. I’m shooting for a release date around early March. It should be tight! Lots of cool features that will make it much more dynamic and user friendly then the static amateur site I have sitting at UnrealCycles.com right now. Two of the coolest aspects of the new website will first that I’ll be able to update it quickly, anytime and anywhere. Expect updates to the website, at least small ones, DAILY, not monthly. And second, YOU GUYS will play a huge part in making the website as cool as possible with bike porn, reviews, comments, etc!

Anyway… ya man, I’m still here :-)

Don't know about Ben or if he's still affiliated with this shop but, I gave Peter a deposit on a frame and lost my job since. So, no new bike. This was a box XL frame and when I made numerous unanswered attempts to have a refund processed, I got no return call or e-mail. So, I posted something on their Facebook page and got an immediate reply.

Peter says they have a policy (first I heard as my receipt says nothing about non-refundable policy) no refunds. He claims I ordered a custom order frame however, when I initially inquired, his e-mail reply was that they had an XL "On the shelf". Further, Grammo confirms that XL is a standard frame size for them - not custom at all!!! Deposit was given with the acknowledgement that I would pay it off within 60 days for delivery. Within two weeks, I informed Peter of my situation and that I wouldn't be able to buy the frame then. He replied that their next shipment wouldn't be in until Dec. Thought I would be back to work then and agreed. Well, still no work and, they got a shipment in early on Nov 14 - I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to fulfill the order. I informed him that I wound't be able and likely not going to be able. At that time, I inquired about a refund - no reply!!! I sent four subsequent unanswered emails and three unanswered phone calls.

Not until I posted my situation on their FB page did I receive a reply!

Given the posts about Ben's good service, I'm guessing he is no longer associated with the shop as Peter is a complete moron and, IMO, an unscrupulous dealer!!

Just my two cents and my experience!!
