Anyone been up there or know what the situation is on if or if not the trail is open/rideable? I am itching to ride that trail again.
That's pretty funny. I've seen many a less than 100 pound gals ride that whole loop and still have plenty of energy left. It's an easy morning lap.Bring your snow shoes. I was in the high country last Friday all shady spots are holding a lot of snow still. 2-3 weeks maybe. If you think your tough try riding the entire loop. I learned my lesson, shuttle good.
So what is your "hard" loop, tough guy? That's pretty funny. I've seen many a less than 100 pound gals ride that whole loop and still have plenty of energy left. It's an easy morning lap.
i think it's a 20 miler with a little less than 3 large in vert. How many miles and how much elevation gain does this loop have?
Hehehe. IF one had to ask. I guess the hardest days were the Cascade Triple Crown. Riding up then down Crystal, Dalles/Palisades, and Sun Top all in one day. Maybe 45 miles and 14K of climbing. Or day two of the BBFT at 83 miles and 7800 feet of climbing. Good enough? So what is your "hard" loop, tough guy?
Jesus, you are crazy! If you don't like to shuttle it, I have this new thing that will benefit both of us.. It's a rope tied to your seatpost and my bars. You get the best workout possible for such a short trail like Kachess, and I get to enjoy cold beer while being towed to the top! WIN, WIN!Hehehe. IF one had to ask. I just didn't want to come right out and say shuttling Kachess is lame.

My attorney said i can't talk to you anymore and you need to stay at least 50 feet away from me now on.Hey, you line'em up, I knock'em down big guy.
i did that once several years back when it was in the 90s, ran through a 70oz camelback by the top of the road. i was trying to hang with an expert xc racer which might have had something to do with it. was a little miserable.yeah i can't imagine doing that climb on a hot day. ugh.
AwesomeBasically..... it's like a hot 15yr old right now. Looking good, but consider giving it just a little more time before you hit it.
Ahh Chris, I understand you ride periodically with Iddings (off topic, I know). I clicked through your blog on Kachess, long ride to do by yourself if I recall correctly!Rode the trail last Friday... still some snow on the hike-a-bike up to the saddle and a few spots after that. Trail is probably 90% ridable, some trees down too. Sure was a warm ascent, about 90 degrees, but the snow and creek crossings paid off.
