Hello, I am new here on the forum, and i have a question.

I want to buy a new bikes and now I doubt between the Kona Cowan 2008 & the Specialized P2 2008

Which of the 2 is now actual better?

I already read that the Specialized P2 2008 much better is then the Kona Stuff 2008

Now are the Kona Cowan 2008 and the Kona Stuff 2008 2 different bikes

So now I ask a comparison between the Kona Cowan 2008 & the Specialized p2 2008

look at the geometry on the cowan.... not very djish now look at the beautiful p.2, ahhhhhh its perfect. i hope i helped. p series are like tanks and it can handle anything YOU are going to throw at it, trust me, that cowan looks more like a all mountain hardtail not a djer, if your posting here you want the p2 otherwise go to the freeride section.

I'd go with the P2. I ride an 08 P1 and love it. You will hear and read about the Specialized having a low bottom bracket height, but although it does sit lower than most I have NEVER ran into any issues whatsoever. If you are wanting to jump and ride street I believe you would be happier with the Specialized.

Hardly. My 2005 p2 frame weighed around 5 pounds even, and my replacement warranty frame, a 2008 p3 (same as the p2 mentioned above) dropped 0.7 pounds off that...so go figure. It's a wickedly light frame, but I don't know that it's exactly a tank. I fear for my chainstays when I bail tailwhips. Upshot is, lifetime warranty!

I love the geometry of my p3 though, it spins better than my friend's dobermann (he confirmed this) and it's really light, so quite flickable.

The p series bikes are indeed heavy, but most of that is the build they offer as stock. Really heavy parts. The older steel frames were super heavy though. The Aluminum ones are not too bad.

For 08' though I like the changes they made.
