Hey, does anybody know how i could go about converting my bike from geared to singlespeed?

I ride a giant brass 2, and it has 1 gear on the front, and 8 on the back. How could i go about converting it to a singlespeed?

I'm gonna go with a Gusset ER-1, and a chain tensioner i found on ebay

I'd strongly suggest the DMR simple-tension-seeker as a tensioner over that ebay one.

That spring-loaded ebay tensioner is junk. DMR or Rennen, if you want it to last more than a few rides!

Now is the time to figure out your chain/chainstay lengths too... There's a calculator for that, found here:

Shoot for a gear combo that will let you use a full link and be just slightly longer than your chainstays.
