Im over here now
looking to replace my 150mm F36 Talas R with something 150-160mm, has a similar or taller a-t-c (535) and is lighter.
the 55 Micro Ti seems to fit the bill...its taller (which i'd like), lighter and hopefully has the same awesome feeling my 888 Evo Ti does.

does anyone have any experience with this guy? or have any other suggestion that isnt a RS product. the F36 Float is another on my list but would like something different

How about the 55 rc3 evo ti? (edit: not light enough?) I have heard many people describe it as being is close to a 888 as a trail fork gets. I went with the revelation because I was concerned about the ti spring not being stiff enough for me and I don't like air preload, but I was very tempted.

Also, not sure what the a-c will be, but how about one of the new 34's? 15mm axles aren't my favorite either, but it sounds like what you're limited to besides going with a 36.

id ideally like the Evo Ti version but its a bit heavier then my current F36 Talas now and im trying to drop as much weight on the bike as possible.
the F34 Float is my other choice and im assuming its around the same a-t-c as the current F36 160 (?), which is about 10mm more then my fork (which id like.)

Is it possible to switch the 55 to coil if you decide the weight savings vs performance isn't worth it later on? If so, then it doesn't seem like that huge of a gamble to try the air version of the fork- especially since it sounds like it fits most of your criteria.

I guess the a-c on the 34 depends what type of crown they go with- isn't the 34 150mm travel? in that case, I would guess that it will be as low as your 36-150 - or lower if the 34 crown is similiar to a 32-150 crown.

At any rate, it's always exciting to get a new fork- interested to hear what you go with and how you like it.

dont know if its interchangeable or not. i think if i get to that point, id sell the air fork im looking at and just get the Evo Ti since it uses the same cartridge as my 888.
i saw 160mm F34 so thats why im hoping its about 10mm's more then my fork in a-t-c...not really sure which crown they are using though.

the thought of sending mine to Push came up too since its significantly cheaper then a new fork, even at my price

i used to say the same thing, but have been very pleased with my revelation.

let me know how you like the 55. I see marz's xc stuff for good prices from time to time, would be curious to give it a shot.
ive notice too much flex in the Revelation that i tried on a Tallboy....plus i didnt like their damping system over Marz's.
its looking like ill get it around spring time at this rate. lighter wheels are at the top of my list right now

a flexy fork on a 29'er? total shocker. what was the axle? qr/15/20?

im sure it had nothing to do with the 32mm stanchions . it was a 15mm axle. it had noticeably more flex then the F32 Float ive ridden.
the 55 is a nice cross b/w the new F34 and F36 w/ its 35mm stanchions.

mine - 2008 model - had a little bit of flex to it. Not enough to be problematic, but not quite that precise either. I swapped the original QR lowers for some old pike lowers so i could run a 20mm axle, that solved the problem.

rock on.
im stoked to get the fork and was hoping it would compliment the 888 Evo Ti I have as well. i do know that if i dont like the Micro TST cartridge, i can put an Evo cartridge in there if wanted.
ill hopefully have the fork tomorrow...just need wheels now

Any update on this? You can occasionally find cheap 55s for 29ers, and I've considered getting one.

I just rebuilt my RS Reba, I can't wait to not ride RS products anymore.
