Fucking nailed it. Warmongers love beating the drum so they get the chance to ship some disadvantaged kids off to die in the name of freedom.

Who would have thought that paying people like shit to risk their lives for something perceived as meaningless while all but guaranteeing they'll come back physically or mentally messed up with little support and another 50 or so (if they don't end it prematurely) years left to live would be a tough sell?

War will never end until idealistic young people start telling greedy, stupid power hungry old men to shove their causes up their asses. In a long and weird military career, I saw more unreasonable and unnecessary wastes of time, money, energy, resources and lives than I can describe. And my time pales in comparison to things seen by other Vets.

War doesn't determine who is right, only who is left.
