Does your forward foot hit the front tire ever?

For example, on the DK GL 24" a bar spin with level pedals is impossible because the front of the front tire will hit the forward *pedal* when spinning the bars. There is about a 2" overlap between pedal and tire. I notice that on most 20"s this is not the case. How about the molly or the FG?

mine did not on my old molly. I usually have toe-overlap issues on frames too. Never rode a fall guy so I can't comment on them but I think their geo's are similar in that respect.

Thanks guys. You understand that I am not talking about when riding (with the front tire pointed forward), correct? I am talking about when spinning the bars and the front tire is pointed backwards.

Here is a photo showing what I am talking about.

This toe/pedal overlap is one of the final conditions for me pulling the trigger on one of these two lovely frames. Assuming that there are any still available...

no probs on my Molly, and I'm running 175mm cranks and a 2.25 schwalbe up front...

might depend on fork too... a2c, and what is it called, "rake/trail"...
I know my wheel position is quite different between my '06 DJ2 and my rigid Rebate, but no toe buzz in either case....

On my Fall-guy, I had no problems. I have size 13 feet and I ride very far forward on my pedals, so I was worried about this and bought 170mm cranks, but I would have been fine on 175mm cranks.

Wow. Thanks everyone for the feedback and the answers.

I have one further question. It is a difficult one and I want to be sure not to offend either Landon or Leethal. Landon and Leethal, please don't take this personally, but I have had a bad experience with a company that got nothing but rave reviews on ridemonkey. Recently it came out that other folks have also had less than perfect experiences with the same company. Thus, I am once bitten and twice shy and have to ask:

What is the straight dope on these two companies (Tonic and USB)? Good customer service? Timely delivery? No lies, excuses and BS?

My impression is that yes, they are straight shooters, but I have been burned once... If you don't wanna call either of these guys out in public, just shoot me a PM.

Again, apologies to both Landon and Leethal for questioning your credibilty, but....

Ive bought bikes from both Landon and Lee and they both get the nod. No problems what so ever.

Youll be pleased with either frame you choose.

Chuffer, I know what you mean. I had a good experience buying from Landon. He was straight forward, and super helpful throughout my naiveté.

Lee was always straight up and got back to me on emails in a timely manner. When the frames came in he hit us up right away and I got my frame immediately after that.

screaming hand is the heat, takes me back to 1990!

I've known Lee aka Leethal for a long time. USB has the goods. I've alway heard good things about Landon too. You REALLY can't go wrong with either.

I can say first hand that the USB guys are top notch. I got a first gen Molly Maguire and that thing was at my door within a few days after I sent the paypal. Sean, Lee, Scott and Joe were also very cool to me when I went out to Ray's a couple years ago.

I also have to add that I've been impressed w/ Landon's online presense. Not that you can tell everything from posts, but his responses to a lot of topics have been straight forward and informative and I'm typically in agreement with them. FWIW.

Thanks for the kind words. I send people to Union Street when we don't have frames. Although when we do have frames, I have no problem bad mouthing them for a sale.

pitchin' a wang-dang-doodle all night long....

it's a slightly older pic, but shows the stance. I've done a few updates over the past few months, but regardless, USB and Tonic are the epitamy of what an American bicycle company should be. Much respect.

Great picture leethal. So what is it like being an art student? Often lonely and misunderstood?

I have tons of respect for Landon. He drives the company with professionalism, focus, and rationality.

Funny, when I read his replies I consider him ‘The voice of reason’.

He has been more than accommodating with me, even when I asked for an unfinished Fall Guy to modify last year.
