Heading to the west coast for a 5 weeks road trip.
Leaving Mtl august 29th with some stops along the way in Durango and Cortez.

So were looking at spending at least 15-20 days in northern CA. Didn't have much time to plan this road trip so I'm looking for some input from fellow monkeys!

Planning on hitting Tahoe, Downieville, Santa Cruz. I gathered a few trail info but not much. Heard good things about Paradise Royale... So what are the "must ride"? We're traveling with our Westfalia, any cool camping spot to suggest near trailheads?

We are open to any suggestions as far as hiking, biking or even kayak. As far as biking, mostly looking for XC-AM stuff with great scenery, and we love shuttles!

We're not huge fan of big cities, but we might spend a day in SanFran to visit.

Tamarancho is a great XC spot just north of SF
Pacifica/Montara mtn is a great DH/AM+ spot with ocean views just south of SF
I would spend lots of time in Tahoe- tons of stuff to do
SF is well worth a visit, its one of the most beautiful cities in the world IMO
