Big and small finals (Pro/Expert) from Mtn States Cup - Sol Survivor at SolVista Bike Park (home of the 2009 NORBA National Championships). Pretty much left as raw video and audio since Gay Mike was rocking the commentary. Enjoy!

I think we all need to change Mike's nickname to "Excite Mike" ... but ONLY if he stops saying steezy! Sweet video, even if it is raw. That racing was some of the best ever! Under the lights! Multi-time World Champ vs. '07 US Champ! The hillside going completely buck nutty! It was awesome...

That was the most fun I've had spectating a race in years. On par with a good battle at an Outdoor National MX race.

Top props to DS course builders, racers, announcers, organizers and 'stachers.

Lopes 'retired' from WC to race the mountain states cup series.....?....

I'm pretty sure he did Sol Vista because he was near-by for Crankworx CO. It was fun to see him in the mix at a regional and to have to work hard to get the win. Colorado DS shredders keeping him honest. ;)

edit: oh...but Hearndon isn't CO, is he? Oh well, still cool!

probably because sol vista is a sick place to ride...

sucks herndon didn't beat Lopes. one of these days though.....

Also sweet about Schusler's apparently chainless 2 sec win in DH. The U.S has some young pinners on the rise.

where everyone is
such a fun night with cool weather (finally), lights and ripping action!!!

i'm still having night terrors from the mustache cup. being a judge was a huge mistake. proximity to such shadiness can't be good for anyone!

share in the freakiness below

coffee grounds and glue

women's winner

"to catch a predator" award winner and grand prize winner (yes, he won a freaking fox fork for this!)

a few thing to say about sol vista.
#1 best slalom track ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#2 sol vista downhill is sick. (anyone can ride it and have fun, not everyone can go fast and still have fun.
#3 slalom > 4x
#4 the venue was not the biggest but it was one of the most organized i had been to in a while. the ski area also made me feel like they wanted us there.
#5 if you missed going this time don't do it again; support sol vista they actually want mountain biking there.
#6 last but not least thanks to the sol vista bike shop crew. you all did a great job keep it up

Yea joey is def. on his way. He destroyed his derailleur about half way down the course before you come out of the trees to hit the ski jump is what he told me. Cant believe the time he got, couldnt be more stoked for him. Cant wait to see how far he goes.

Actually, it wasn't a regional, it is a national. . . . . http://www.usacycling.org/forms/mbnc/MTBNatzCalendar_Gravity.pdf

Oops. Thanks for the correction.

....I guess I need to start clicking on the USAC site again if they're going to be involved with good stuff like what went down this weekend. Haha.

The idea behind the winner of the women's Moustache Cup was brilliant!

The awards saturday night, along with signature Crusher schwag toss was so much fun. And a luxury to be eating that delicious food they serve on the patio throughout the crazy podium shinanigans.

The schwag toss was the best part. I got myself a hat!

Both times on the podium, and both times being the only one of there that was not of legal age to drink, it was rough.

Congrats on podiuming and kudos for enduring the drunken nonsense around you in your under-drinking-age state. ;)
