Nat'l Trails Day in Los Penasquitos. June 3rd

This Saturday is National Trails Day, again. Both the County & City
events will be centered around the Ranch House at Los Penasquitos
(access through Canyonside Rec Center/Park) and will include the
climbing wall (free), wagon rides, horses, displays and booths from
folks including the SDMBA and various multiuse organizations .

If you've got kids, or friends you'd like to introduce to MTB riding
in a mellow, truly slow and casual ride, then we've got you dialed-in:
the MTC's "Family Ride" will take place on Saturday Morning and will
be a super-easy, 5-mile ride to Carson Crossing and back. We'll meet
in the main area at the Ranch House at 9:50am, and start riding just
after 10am. Tomorrow's Nathan Rennie might get a start on a cruise ride...so send 'em out.

New riders, kids on bikes, kids in trailers, couples looking for a
casual fun ride...this is perfect for you. As in past years, we'll
stop for a breather in the shade of Carson Crossing, enjoy the water
and the opportunity to meet our friends from the Ramona Trails
Association on their equestrian trail ride. Bonus: the bridge at Ranch House Crossing is fully repaired and rideable for trail-a-bikes, etc... Bring your Singlespeed/trailer rigs!

If you're looking for more speed or challenge, the SDMBA will be
leading intermediate-level rides in the Preserve, leaving at various
times. They'll take you up/down the outstanding COBBLESTONE TRAIL,
still a paradigm of MTC/SDMBA volunteer work and design.
