have you ridden m6's? they're all about consistant power with great modulation. i've found some 8" hayes to be more grabby/lock-up prone (if thats what constitutes being too powerful in your mind)

If you're in Reno, there are lots of casino's to stay at.

Nugget
Circus Circus
Harrah's
Silver legacy

Or you can probably find a Motel 6 or something.

i have some two year old hayes brakes with a little fork oil in the pads and they work just fine. what's the deal with those gnarly breaks. wouldn't they work tooooo good. maybe im just weird, but i've never liked having really strong brakes. even nathan rennie files his pads down so they don't stop as fast.

Just wondering if there is a reason you didnt use Hope hubs? I know the rear King is lighter and the engagement is quicker, any thing else though?

I had Hope Big Un's w/ EX823's on there before these. The issue I was having was the rotor size was designed for the M4 pads and wasn't working well. I have Hopes on all my bikes, but wanted to try something different.
