When I was a kid in the 80's there was not anything like dirt jumping, I rode bmx and raced at our local track on weekends, but didn't really learn to jump. I could do some flatland tricks. I started mountain biking in the early 90's and the bikes were tall, long and odd. I loved it anyway but for a different reason. I quit riding and started again in '02. Everything had changed, now the bikes were like I always had wanted them to be. I took up the sport again and made up for lost time going from XC to free riding, now just pretty much AM. Now I want to get into dirt jumping, but I am an old geezer, just turned 38. I need some inspiration from other old guys out there putting in time on the jumps. I have a lot to learn, but am leaving the jumps every day feeling beat down, but happier than I have from riding in a long time.
