Pentagon Denies Slanting Intelligence on Iraq

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon launched a campaign on Wednesday to rebut allegations it sought to mold U.S. intelligence findings to support the view that Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction posed an imminent threat to American interests.
A senior Pentagon official, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith, told a news briefing he wanted to "help lay to rest some stories that have been circulating about the Defense Department that are not true and are beginning to achieve the status of urban legends."
