I'm excited to see how it works for you. I'm doing the same thing, but I have to buy all new parts cause I'm moving from 9 speed to 10 speed. Right now I'm waiting for my One-up 42t.

Yes, I'm using a single ring with a 36t rear cassette. Holy crap, I should get some kind of award for figuring this out. Everyone knows it's impossible to climb hills though on a 36t, because 10 years ago we were using 32t and 10 years before that 28-30.

It gets better though, I figured out that when I installed the XX1 crankset, I could take off the front derailleur AND the front shifter.

I heard that if you have a tapered headset you don't have to run a tapered fork. Is that true?

What about tubeless, do you have to run the tubeless rims and tires?

So what's the final price if you're spec'ing this out from scratch. I'd have to covert my current 9 speed to the 10 speed. So it'd be more than what I was hoping to spend on the conversion.
