The it would have to be a 29rNow just stick a set of Lauf forks on it and that bad boy is ready to go...
I dont think it would matter at this pointThe it would have to be a 29r
I was about to ask where was the gearbox... Pinion is so smallIt's a 650B with a Pinion 18 SPD in the BB with a 636% range at 11% jumps in gear.
It wasn't much more than the 11SPD Alfine from what Rob said. Getting the funds together to do the initial batch will be hard though.the Pinion gearbox ain't cheap.
Isn't that what the kids use Kickstarter for these days?Getting the funds together to do the initial batch will be hard though.
carbon, 650b, dropper, etc.. id say this one is pretty closeHow far are gearbox bikes into the enduro approval process?
No more slack ST angles on enduro bikes!!! How do bike designers not notice that their seat is too far back when raised and too far forward when lowered?carbon, 650b, dropper, etc.. id say this one is pretty close
looks identical to the proto to test the pinion gearbox that's been around since last winter. is there something new/different?Zerode, carbon, gearbox, strange linkage
Do you really care how far "forward" the seat is when it's lowered? No more slack ST angles on enduro bikes!!! How do bike designers not notice that their seat is too far back when raised and too far forward when lowered?
No same bike. Only 1 on the planet he made it in his shop. Testing Box, angles, and other bits.looks identical to the proto to test the pinion gearbox that's been around since last winter. is there something new/different?

Rob is a tall guy, he built it for himself to test the Pinion gearbox and several other ideas. It's not been built to be seen, hence the lack of photos of it.I want to like this, but seriously, straighten that seat tube out and lower the seat mast, then maybe it won't look massive...
So you don't care about the horizontal position of the seat on your downhill bike at all?Do you really care how far "forward" the seat is when it's lowered?
I understand that, thanks, just saying, love the concept, just that if it sees the light of day I hope it's streamlined somewhatRob is a tall guy, he built it for himself to test the Pinion gearbox and several other ideas. It's not been built to be seen, hence the lack of photos of it.
Since we're talking about a trailbike, that's what I'm referring to. Seat position, as it relates to the BB, is only of significance to me when it's extended and I'm sitting on it, pedaling. When it's down and out of the way I'm not usually sitting on it. Sure, it makes contact with my inner thighs, but I doubt I'd notice a difference of a few mm fore/aft in that circumstance. So you don't care about the horizontal position of the seat on your downhill bike at all?
