Earlier this year my buddy Ryan at RCP Fabrication started making hand built frames in Waterbury, CT. As a long time welder, mechanic and street/trials rider theres no doubt he knows his way around a bike. After the first couple of frames came in at sub 5 lbs I was very interested, so I came up with this...

An all mountain hardtail inspired by the Transition TransAm. Using the medium geometry of the TransAm as a guideline we tweeked a few things... Lower standover with a 16.5" seat tube rather than 18", vertical dropouts, and a 1.5 lb diet (4.6 lbs vs 6.1 lbs).

Here are some pictures of the process and the finished product. There are more pictures and information on his website, http://www.rcpfabrication.com/. The website/graphics are a work in progress and he is working to improve them both, but building frames comes first.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks for looking.

Poland: My thoughts exactly. Now I have this.

MMcG: Currently Waterbury. I think Ryan moved recently so that information could be outdated.
