Best way to remove YOUR prints from a gun is to have THE GUY NEXT TO YOU wipe it down with some alcohol.

Wipe briefly with a handkerchief / rag that you happen to have stuffed in your pocket before putting the gun in someone else's hand. Worked on most of the tv shows that I watch.
