hey coloradians, i am planning to visit some relatives in montrose this summer and am wondering what good rides are nearby there. looking for freeride/dh if possible, shuttles are good but not required. i remember reading in bike mag. a few years back about a ski resort near durango (?) that was starting to build some fr/dh type stuff, they even had josh bender helping out. any more info on that, any other resorts or even good epic xc would be greatly appreciated.....

Head to Grand Junction and ride the Free Lunch trail and the lunch loops. Silverton is about an hour from Durango, and did not do anything last summer due to large amounts of snow fall from the previous winter. I am not sure what this summer holds for Silverton. Hope this helps Crested Butte also has riding.
