---

Ridemonkey member David Wood (w00dy) took it upon himself this year to bring back the Big Wheels slopestyle, to be held at Rye Airfield Indoor Park. The event will be taking place on May 1st, 2010, with registration from 9 AM until 3 PM and the contest starting at 5 PM. It will be an evening filled with cash payouts, some of the best jumps in the United States, and some crazy MTB trickery.

Entry fees include a pass to the bike park for the day, and cost $50 for the Pro event, and $25 for expert and amateur classes. The categories are done based on ability, not age range. The Pro event will feature a 50 percent payout of all the registration fees, so it should be a good dollop of cash for the eventual winner.

The format will be a "semi-jam", as every rider will get a solo run to give the comp some structure, but following this there will be a 5 minute jam to bring the fun back into slope contests. Once the jam is done, every rider gets one trick to cap off their Big Wheels experience. But fear not, if qualifying doesn't treat you with the hospitality it should, there will be a 5 minute jam that will serve as a "last chance qualifier". The format will be repeated for finals, after 5-7 riders are chosen to compete for the cash and/or the glory, depending on the group. Once all the scores are calculated, a Best Trick contest will happen on a feature to be chosen on the day of the contest.

As an added bonus, the Port Inn in Portsmouth, NH will be giving a deal for out-of-towners looking to compete.
