today i was riding around on my giant faith, then i lowered the seat. when i put weight on it the bottom of the seat post hit the spring.:huh: the result was removal of the rubber coat on the spring in just a pea sized area. so i was just wondering what this might cause later on?? any ideas?
and i was also wondering if it would be a good idea to cover the wound up. like tape it or something like that....

I wouldnt be overly worried, maybe put a little nail polish just to keep rust from building up, othe rthan that, just go for it

J/k of course....worst case scenario, if you live in a we climate especially near the coast, the spring will rust a bit in the scratched spot..may even cause a bit mreo paint to come off in a few years......

If you really care, give the spot a quick buff with some steel wool or fine sand paper and touch it up with some paint (you can find auto touch up at most car part stores for a couple bucks) or you mom's nail polish.

If it's black, super-glue some electrical tape on the wound.
